If you’re in a hurry and just want to find out what the best sit and stand stroller is, I’d recommend the Chicco BravoFor2 Standing/Sitting Double Stroller.

Sometimes when an infant is riding in a stroller, their older sibling wants a lift as well. While double strollers are one option, you might consider a sit and stand stroller instead. That way, your older child can hop on and off whenever they feel like it.

In this article, I am breaking down the best sit and stand strollers, and in the end, I’ll choose the winner.

Here are the sit and stand strollers I will be reviewing:

Who Needs A Sit And Stand Stroller?

Parents with one older child and one younger child are good candidates for a sit and stand stroller. Often times, the older child is able to walk some of the time. But, kids get tired fairly easily. So, having the option to hop on and ride can be really nice.

One big advantage that sit and stand strollers have over double strollers, is that they tend to be a bit smaller and more compact. This is nice in its own right, but also means that they are generally easier to maneuver.

The other nice thing about sit and stand strollers is that it’s pretty easy for your older child to jump right on. This is great if your kid wants to hop on after getting tired but then hop back off after resting a bit.

Things To Consider When Shopping For A Sit And Stand Stroller

If you’re looking at sit and strand strollers, you should be sure to check maneuverability, storage space, and price.

Maneuverability

While sit and stand strollers tend to maneuver better than double strollers, they also tend to maneuver a bit worse than single strollers. So, this is something that you will want to look into when making a purchase.

Cristin’s Note: I once had a stroller that was almost impossible to turn because the front wheel constantly locked up. It was a pretty good stroller in every other way, but this one issue made it a pain to use. This is one thing that you don’t want to get wrong.

Storage Space

When you’re out and about with two kids, there are all kinds of things that you need to take with you. If one of your kids is still in diapers, all of the diapering supplies alone take up a fair amount of space. Then there are extra changes or clothes, toys, beverages, and on and on.

Be sure to check both the storage basket below as well as the parent console. That way, you can make sure there is a good spot for your diaper bag as well as your phone and keys. It doesn’t hurt to check for cup holders either.

How Expensive Is It?

Sit and stand strollers are great. However, it’s worth considering how long you will be using yours. If your older child is ready to stand, how long will it be before they are ready to walk alone all the time?

If you think you will get a couple of years of use out of this, it might be worth springing for something expensive. But, if you think you will only use if for six months, you might go with a lower priced option.

My Top Sit And Stand Stroller Reviews

I have done a deep dive into the world of sit and stand strollers, and have reviewed my top 5 below. This post includes strollers at different price points, and with a fairly wide range of features. I have picked my favorite. However, determining which option is best for you will come down to which features you really value, and how much you want to spend.

Graco Uno2Duo Stroller

The Graco Uno2Duo Stroller has some impressive features. However, it’s also priced at the high end of the range. If money is no object, this might be the best choice.

The front seat can either function as a normal stroller seat. Or, it can be converted into an infant bassinet. That’s a nice option to have when you’re carting around a newborn.

It’s also car seat compatible. So, you can use this as part of a travel system.

When you only have one child in this one, it can be fairly compact. However, when you’re ready to have an older child ride in back, the stroller can expand by 5 inches. This provides extra space and creates a larger storage basket as well. Since you’ll probably be carrying around more things with two kids, this is a really nice feature.

Folding it up is a breeze, and can be done with one hand. So, you won’t have to struggle with this one when you’re done riding around.

On the downside, it’s fairly bulky and wide (though it does still maneuver well). Even when it’s folded up, it’s not all that compact. So, you’ll need to make sure you have enough space in your trunk.

Pros

  • Front seat reclines and can convert into an infant bassinet
  • Stroller can expand by 5 inches for a larger storage basket and more space
  • Easy to maneuver
  • Car seat compatible
  • Easy one handed fold

Cons

  • Fairly bulky and wide
  • Not very compact when folded
  • Priced on the high end of the range

Chicco BravoFor2 Standing/Sitting Double Stroller

Chicco has really broken the mold with this stroller. In my opinion, it’s the best sit and stand stroller on the market.

One thing that sets this one apart is that it maneuvers really well. A lot of sit and stand strollers are just long enough to make them tough to maneuver. But, with this one, you can turn on a dime.

It has an extra large storage basket that is accessible from both the front and the back. That’s really helpful since there are so many baby and child related things to take with you whenever you go out. There is also a zippered storage basket in back for your keys, phone, and other small items.

This one is able to stand when folded. This is a huge space saver and really pays off whenever you stroll into a restaurant or crowded destination.

It’s car seat compatible. So, you can use it as part of a travel system.

There is a parent tray with two cup holders, and a child tray for the front child with two cup holders. So, you’ll be able to carry more than enough beverages. However, someone will have to pass a drink to the child standing in the back.

The biggest downside with this one is that it’s fairly expensive. On a more minor note, the front seat doesn’t recline. That’s not a huge deal, but it would be nice since it would make naps easier.

Pros

  • Extra large storage basket that is accessible from the front and rear
  • Standing fold
  • Car seat compatible
  • Easy to maneuver
  • Parent tray has two cup holders
  • Child tray for front child has two cup holders
  • Zipper storage pocket in back

Cons

  • Priced on the expensive end of the range
  • Seat doesn’t recline

Baby Trend Sit N Stand Ultra Tandem Stroller

The Baby Trend Sit N Stand Ultra Tandem Stroller is a great option, with just a couple of drawbacks. It’s priced quite affordably and gets my vote for best sit and stand stroller for anyone on a tight budget.

Versatility is one of things that makes this one stand out. It accommodates 2 children in stroller seats, 2 children in car seats (which are sold separately), or 1 child sitting and the other one standing. If your older child isn’t quite ready to stand, this can be a great way to bridge the gap until they are ready.

It has a parent tray with a cup holder. Each child has a dedicated cup holder as well. So, everyone should be able to stay well hydrated.

It also folds up quite compactly. This ensures that it will fit well in your trunk and in your closet.

The storage basket is fairly large, so you have plenty of space to carry whatever you need. However, it can be a little tough to access the storage basket if you have two kids riding in the stroller. Basically, you need to reach in between them which is not ideal.

One other issue with this one is that it’s a little on the heavy side. So, lifting it up to put it in the trunk is not exactly fun.

Pros

  • Priced affordably
  • Accommodates 2 children in stroller seats, 2 children in cars seats, or 1 sitting and 1 standing
  • Parent tray with cup holder
  • Each child has a dedicated cup holder
  • Compact fold
  • Large storage basket

Cons

  • Fairly heavy
  • Need to reach between kids to access storage basket

JOOVY Caboose Graphite Stand On Tandem Stroller

This is a really affordable option, but it does have a couple of limitations.

It comes with a universal car seat adapter. So, you can use it as part of a travel system.

The child riding in back has the option to sit or stand. It’s nice to have this option if your older child is able to stand but doesn’t want to do so all of the time. Sometimes kids get tired, so it can be nice to take a load off.

There is a large canopy which provides the child riding in front with good protection from the sun.

The front seat can recline in three different positions. So, it’s good for napping or for looking ahead.

It comes with a child tray with a cup holder. However, there is no parent console. The storage basket underneath is a little on the small side as well. So, you won’t have as much room to carry things as you would probably like.

It’s fairly heavy, but not as sturdy as some parents would like. The wheels are small and are not the highest quality either. This hurts mobility and sturdiness.

Pros

  • Priced affordably
  • Includes universal car seat adapter that works with most brands
  • Has a child tray with cup holder
  • Large canopy
  • 3 position seat recline

Cons

  • Fairly heavy
  • Wheels are small which hurts mobility and sturdiness
  • No parent console
  • Storage basket underneath is small

JOOVY Caboose Too Ultralight Graphite Stand-On Tandem Stroller

This is a higher end version of the JOOVY stroller above, and comes with a number of improvements. Naturally, it costs a bit more, but it’s still a good value.

This one comes with a parent organizer with two cup holders. It has a child tray with two cup holders for the front child as well.

It comes with a universal car seat adapter that works with most brands. So, you can use it as part of a travel system if you like.

This one is lighter than the JOOVY stroller reviewed above. It’s also sturdier and has more mobility thanks to a better set of wheels.

The canopy on this one is quite large, and can also be extended to provide the rear child with some shade.

The storage basket on this one is fairly large. However, some parents have noted that when it’s fully loaded up, it tends to drag on the ground.

This stroller does take a bit of effort to fold up. It’s not too bad, but certainly not a quick one handed fold either.

Pros

  • Rear canopy can extend to protect child in rear
  • Has a child tray with two cup holders
  • Includes parent organizer with two cup holders
  • Large storage basket
  • Includes a universal car seat adapter

Cons

  • Takes a little effort to fold
  • Storage basket drags on the group if loaded up
